It’s happening, it’s back. We’re excited and pigging out on strawberries and cream. We’ve replaced the water cooler in the SMARTY office with jugs of Pimms and wheeled in a massive TV. This can only mean one thing – Wimbledon – the oldest and best tennis grand slam is happening right now.

Quarter and semi-finals are from Tuesday, the big finals weekend is Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July. Venus Williams is out leaving the women’s field wide open for a big upset. Pundits think the men’s will be won by one of the old guards of Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.

If you’re after tickets, you’re probably going to queue… for a really long time. You might get your hands on a day pass by turning up super early in the morning. But if you’re a SMARTY customer, entertaining yourself while you wait won’t be a problem. Bug your mates all you like with unlimited calls and texts. And if you’re streaming the matches while queueing, top up your data for just £1.25 per GB.

But at SMARTY, we always like to go the extra-mile. So, we locked our creatives in a room and told them to figure out how our customers could blag tickets without the queue. Honestly, the output was a bit dodge – we got suggestions like marry into royalty, become a Hollywood A-lister, or disguise yourself as an umpire.

We gave up on the idea of blagging tickets and decided that there are tons of other ways to squeeze the Robinson’s juice out of Wimbledon. Here are our top 3.

SMARTY Hack #1: Get down to a local outdoor screen. Pack a picnic, slap on some sunscreen, and get the authentic Wimbledon atmosphere without the authentic Wimbledon price tag.

SMARTY Hack #2: Stroll around Wimbledon’s gastropubs. Rub shoulders with other tennis tourists, scoff some beer battered fish, and cheer at the big screen.

SMARTY Hack #3: Have a giggle at some Wimbledon funny moments.

Whether you try out our hacks, manage to get tickets, or weld yourself to the sofa – you’re probably going to need some extra data. Try out SMARTY’s no commitment unlimited plan.

Wimbledon is a sure sign that summer has arrived. And the weather looks awesome for next week, so make the most of it. Maybe even pick up a racket, whack some balls at a wall and imagine you’re at ‘love all’ with Mansour Bahrami (possibly the most entertaining tennis player of all time).
